Bernard Leroi

Born on May 21, 1959 in Marseille (France). Living in the Netherlands since 1984. Married, father of two boys.

His passion for painting goes back to 2002. He paints figures with sharp colors in an imaginary world. He says: “I am charmed by the beauty of the colors, am captivated by their force and am fascinated by their interaction. I paint them while trying to marry them with the fantasy shapes of my characters and objects”. Paintings done by children are for him a source of inspiration because they characterize in his eyes spontaneity and innocence, and he quotes Walt Disney “Dream your life in color; it’s the secret of happiness”.

Bernard has been taking painting lessons at the Gooise Academy of Fine Arts in Laren (Netherlands) from 2007 to 2010.
